Can't justify the costs either after car bills. Big shame really.

Hey guys, Oli and I went there today... here are a few pics

Pics of bling: http://fraktiv.pinkbike.com/album/Bike-Shows/

Generally it wasn't really the mini-Eurobike we were hoping it would be. Oli was severely disappointed that the distributor for POC didn't bother turning up so he couldn't try one of their helmets on.

Peter from 2Stage bikes was on form and we're looking forward to him delivering his 2stage all mountain rig soon.

Oli spotted his bike of the day called the Antidote. Very plush, pics on pinkbike.

I quite liked the look of the scott voltage dirt bikes, but then I spotted the yeti dj bike and yummy!

The guys at Corsair weren't bothered about talking to anyone which was a bit of a shame as they were really chatty last year, but obviously having Chris Smith on board they can't be arsed to market their products anymore.

I asked the dude at mavic why there's so much bad press re their hubs, but he said it was all rubbish and forum speak (hmm... really?), and then I pushed his sales force to the most when I said "well if I were to think about industry9 or crossmax sx, what would you say to win my purchase... he couldn't really answer that one, lol. I think he was quite glad when I left!

I had a ding dong with the idiots at shimano... I love my saint stuff, but they're like the Apple of the bike world:

Me: "So tell me about ur saint wheels, hav u got any here?"
Shimano: "No, r top wheels r XTR"
Me: "R u sure, coz i'm pretty sure i've seen them on www"
Shimano: "Nope, never heard of Saint wheels"

...I go round the stand 2 c vanderham's Evil bike with saint wheels

Me: "Err, i've found them, they're behind you... they're on the Evil bike round the back of your stand"
Shitano: "Oh those, no they're prototypes"
Me: THEY'RE STILL EFFING SAINT WHEELS!!! (ok so I didn't say the last bit, but I said something along the lines of... "so they do exist but you said a moment ago they don't?!!"

The Transition guys... well actually their new UK distributor Surf Sales, were a good laugh - they even had Transition beer (but no Syren Beer unfortunately).

The Finale Ligure guys had a little booth - the only real DH holiday people there, so we took a few leaflets and chatted to them about the trails out there and when best to ride... hmm... tempted tempted...

Hope are bringing out a limited edition only-89-in-the-world case of components in a yummy brown. Shame that they'll be impossible to buy as they'll go to all their existing trade contacts at £2000 a pop. Looked nice though. I did say that their pink stuff was too baby pink for my liking... ;o)

So the show was ok, but not the greatest... too many exhibitors there who really couldn't give a frell if the place was empty all day, they were just there to get out of the office it seemed.

Nice little write up! The story ends with you getting marched out by the riot police by the sounds of it  Wink

Sounds like a decent collection of exhibitors anyway.

Nice report, an enjoyable read! Maybe it was a good thing I didn't go! I hate it when sales people are grumpy...
