Freeride has to be one of the most murky disciplines - as in it's borders are shady. I think it's all about opinion, in a way. If freeride isn't competetive then what do well call events like the rampage and the quashqai urban challenge? Perhaps it's about personal taste. For me freeride certainly isn't competetive, but then neither is downhill. _________________

Fairly to the point there phils!
Know what you mean though. Is nice to just get a bike and ride without being shoehorned into a category (think that's a racer's way of looking at the sport). 'Oh look he's just a hucker...'
