Tyres...Not as if we're delving into one of the wettest times of year, as it seems that all seasons have blended into one Autumn/Spring type mix. I was wondering though what tyres people have had experience with in British conditions and whether there were and any particular recomendations for all round (maybe slightly more DH orientated) use?

you can never really go wrong with a set of Maxxis High Rollers. but then the Maxxis Minions are pretty good in most conditions as well.
I also quite liked WTB Motoraptors when i ran them but that hasn't been for a while (also cheaper than the Maxxis')

I put a pair of Maxxis Swampthings 2.35 60a on at the end of the winter and have had no reason to take them off. They've been great in the wet and the mud, really grippy on shore and just as good in the dry and on tarmac. The back is just starting to wear so I'll swap them round and keep them on for another winter.

Yes, the wet weather can be tyresome (sorry)
I have High Rollers on the DH and Panaracer Trailrakers on the XC

High Rollers on the Front, Minions on the Rear on the bouncy bike. Having seen how sticky the SwampThings are, I think I will be purchasing soon for the wet stuff.
Da Bomb Dirt Reapers on the Hard Tail, pretty grippy for a DJ tyre.

Michlin make the best DH tyres in my view butthey are not cheap
for an all round tyre High Holler ( more grip) or Intruders (roll better) both maxxies and are both top tyres

That was a wheely bad pun (also sorry!)
I got some high rollers which i have yet to try in the wet, but i wasn't too impressed with about 1 million punctures in the alps (perhaps because i didn't get the wire walled ones)

Have a similar story Wein. Got some swamp things for the winter and ended up using them all year! Great stuff. Used to have Kenda Nevegal/Bule groove combo which worked well.

Got them on the HT. Love the way they mercilessly give way in a flat dirt corner with no warning. Great fun
