Sport related injury

You hear a lot about this kind of stuff, what have people managed to achieve with their biking?
OutlanderSE

broken wrist, broken coxyx twice and busted a shoulder for a month, the rest ahs been pedal wounds and brusies
Pires

Had some nasty bmx injuries.... but have all looked worse than they were. Worst was probably jumping off a curb in Dulwich , to find my front wheel dropping out. Hit the side of a bus and absolutely busted by balls. One embarrasing trip to a female doctor, three weeks of walking like John Wayne and looking like John Merrick.

Motocross bikes have broken three ribs, collar bones etc etc.

Mountain bike, just seems to be just superficial stuff at the mo.

All the nasty injuries have come from Rugby. All in all 60+ stitches, shattered bones in my both hands, broken nose, cheekbone. Dislocated fingers and thumbs, tend to pop out at odd moments now. Torn knee, ankle and shoulder ligaments. Numerous concusions, damaged eye.................... STICK TO MOUNTAIN BIKING.

Sound a tad accident proned don't I........LOL
lemmy

Anything not broken then?

My list

Numerous broken ribs, snapped collar bone (still snapped), dislocated AC joint at the other collar bone, twister pelvis (still twisted but slowly improving) and of course the highlight in my injury list was this...

Notice the SKY remote - we were good buddies for a few months.

Oh and I got a headache after riding XC the other day - watch that, you never can be too careful  Very Happy [/img]

Laughing  I love the way  you put that... sounds hilarious but must have been painful!

Quite frankly, i'm surprised you can even ride a bike with the amount of injuries you've had!

Oh some of these are nasty... Have never really achieved much apart from migraines which i recently visited the ostio where they told me i had locked 2 vertebrae. I think that's down to too much study though  Wink

Is rugby really worth all that pain Pires?

ive only had one bad'ish bail on my bike,
just knocked my self out on the dirt jumps at esher a few years ago, had to spend saturday nite in A&E witch wasnt fun :S
could of been a lot worse if i didnt had my lid on tho.

Definitely. Knocking yourself out seems bad enough to me. From some reason, though i've been riding for years none of my worst injuries have come from riding. I've had the usual brusies, scrapes, cuts. The most recent one was winding myself from landing on my chest.
