Introduce yourself!

Say hello here! Give us a bit of background about yourself, where you ride, what you ride. All disciplines are welcome and we're glad to have you on board  Cool
lemmy

Is this for regulars? I'm tempted to write something juvenile.

For newbies ideally

I must be just what you're looking for! I'm 24 and used to ride in my youth and i'm just getting back into it with a few friends. Still got my old Azonic ds2 frame and bought a couple of bits for it to get in back on the dirt.

Been to chicksands which was really good, hopefully going there next weekend! And Porc which is more local but being sold? can you still ride there?
Ben03

Welcome! Good man welcome back to the sport! I remember seriously drooling over the DS2 frame. Still looks nice today!

As for PORC keep an eye on the homepage. It is still open as only part of the land is for sale but who knows what we'll hear next eh?

Moved to T Wells a couple of years ago. Compulsive trail hound – love to sniff out some new singletrack, still very much exploring the surrounding area.

Style of riding - fast XC, love to go up hills and much as rag it down (yeah, freak). Ride an Anthem and s/s XTC.

If this sounds like anyone's cup of tea then pm/email me.

Cool to find a local forum btw! Nice work Smile
JAW

Welcome to the forums chaps! Good to see some fresh blood!
flippidy

Nice one. Been lurking for a while thought I'd better say hello at some point!

Welcome along! good to have more trail sniffers online (keep us posted on your finds) Wink don't be ashamed of doing XC, I go out in the mornings every so often to do the ups an downs for the old fitness.

Should be able to fly up those hills on the Anthem - good rig!
flippidy

Yep, loving the Anthem. Surprising what it can do for such a light bike.

Pic of the old gal here. Gotta represent the T Wells whippets... Very Happy

Ben03

The blue's a mint colour too. When I worked at the bike shop we'd squabble who got to take the anthem out at the end of the day Very Happy
rob0070

Very new rider

Just taken up riding again after many years away, 46 year old, need to get fit !!!! Missed riding so much. Hope to find a few like minded people out there.

Cool Smile

Which shop did you work at, if you don't mind me asking! I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say Evernden?

Hey Rob Smile

Worth getting in touch with the Bedgebury crew - sounds like the sort of bunch of chaps you are after.

Welcome Rob!

Depends what type of riding you're after? If you're looking for jump/shore stuff there's some excellent lines to help you get into the riding at the Bull Track (also in Venues/Clubs forum below). There's often weekend and some evening sessions going on with good atmosphere.

Welcome Russ,
Keep an eye on the venues/bull track sections for when we are all out. Would be good to have you along.
JAW

As the others have said, welcome and nice bike!

You must be one of only a few who can say that their work and girlfriend actually help them to ride!  Laughing

Hi all

Hi all, thought i'd drop in and say hi.
I'm VERY new to MTBing again after a 10 year absence (Damn cars), back in the day I had an MTrax Titanium (Paperround money! - so many paperrounds) now I have a temp Carerra that I got on a whim and went out with my bro in law.
Fallen back in love with it again, and get a better rush than taking the ZX9-R out too - so thats going to make way for a VW Transporter (Need a van anyway) and nearer christmas i'm going to treat myself to another bike, but for now mine suits me fine for my novice ways - so if anyone is in the Worthing area and fancys a ride, just drop me a line...

Be gentle with me please, haha... (Anyone going to Brighton BigDog at the weekend?).

Sorry about the long post.
Pires

Re: Hi all

Hi Chris Welcome!!
Nothing wrong with Carerra's, good bikes for the money!
Selling the ZX9-R Crying or Very sad Its amazing the sacrifices we make....... Selling my R26 this month, to make way for a more bike friendly vehicle. However I am looking to invest in a motorbike too!
Check out www.pistonheads.com Lots a very nice Transporters.
ChrisDT

I know, but somehow the thrill of a good downhill outways the thrill of being knocked off almost by a pigeon lol!

I'm signed up to Pistonheads and use it quite a lot, but yeah I agree, there are a few good Transporters on there, may also look at transits too...

R26? Skyline?

Renault Megane R26 230 F1.... blah, blah, blah. Can't right it or say it without sounding like a car geek. Very Happy
ChrisDT

Haha, thats ok - i'm one too, just left a position in BMW to persue a new career.

Nice cars though, Plastic windows?

Excellent!

No Its the R26, not the R26R. Same car just with mod cons instead of roll cages, fire extiguishers, sticky tyres and plastic windows. Laughing
JAW

Welcome Chris! What is that Brighton big dog thing about?

Hi guys,

My name's Martin.
I'm relatively new to biking, though completely new to cycling in the south.
In a nutshell I know of only a couple of places to ride, and have only my bro to cycle with, so I am keen to get into the local cycling community.
As an overview.... I'm living in Brighton, aged 26, a design engineer with an interest in death metal. I have recently bought a Commencal Super 4.3, though I am yet to christen it.

Anyway, any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my bike by the way; I've not had chance to photograph it yet so this is simply the brochure shot....

Pires

Welcome onboard bro. Hope you find the site informative, helpful and amusing!

Check out the Venue's section for local riding info. Although there are plenty of other sections relating to local spots!
JAW
