Decent UK mags. This month will be the last issue i recieve of MBUK. Although it covers the widest variety of riding i just never seemed to read it anymore. What opinions have people on the mags out there? Is there a better alternative?

Dirt.
how to be the best magazine to come out of the UK. excellent photography and indepth articles not just about the sport currently but how it has progressed. It's focus is more on Downhill but it does cover other disiplins a little as well. plus it reasently became monthly so you get 12 a year rather than the 6 we used to get.
you can find the site here
there are others,
- MBR for singletrack mainly...very good mag i must say but they don't really focus on any of the more "extream" diciplins.
- What Mountain Bike, XC/Singletrack...the focus is more along the lines of health and products with something on others.
can't remember what others there are off hand.

Yeh, I really like Dirt and have lost favour with MBR and MBUK - they ditched their girl section only after three months and their attitude is a bit up their own bums. Dirt is a bit more down to earth (heh, geddit?!), I love the photos and the breadth of stuff they report. Although their grammer is sometimes not the best... but hey, the feel of the mag is good and that's all fine for me.
Plus MBR and MBUK have put their prices up and it's nuts! Not worth it imo and so I won't be buying any more (instead perusing it at my local Smiths instead!).

Very well done Groundbreaking in fact lol
Exactly what i made of mbuk. Often feels like its about getting kids to worship Doddy etc. Dirt is excellent only gripe is they focus a bit heavily on only races sometimes. Photo's and layout are amazing though!

Oh that's sick. Probably the last issue you'd want that to happen to!
Does anyone know what Decline's like (Canadian mag). Was thinking of subscribing as it looks like a more multi-discipline friendly version of Dirt

I like the way it's roots are in racing. Though it wood be nice to have a bit more freeride coverage. (sorry about that)
The photo issue is immense! My first issue of subscription too!

I think they're all quite crap really, although I do sub to Dirt, which gets left in the small office without a phone and from time to time buy MBUK which I'll read cover to cover into London on the train, Dirt's text is too small, pictures are good, and far too much advertising, MBUK annoys me with instructions on how to fit grips etc, which if you were that thick not to know, you'd read the instructions that came with them when you bought them.
I usually find more interesting stuff on the net, a good website is http://sicklines.com/ and a couple of mates of mine started an online mag a while ago but nothing recently, not that informative but quite funny: http://www.stopadoodledoo.com/

Wideopen looks really good but i dont get on with downloadable stuff as my eyes get screwed up staring at the screen for too long! Very Dirt-esque though!

E-mags are a nice idea but they're just not the same as the real thing; there's no value, as if.
