clean dirtDirt mag has got to be the best UK mag. Lovely pics and great layout. I have been a fan of the mag for quite some time but was wondering whether it was just me or whether others had noticed the written content dropping in quality. Along the lines of more foul content. I know Dirt is a mag for the 'lads' but thought that some of the stuff coming up in there wasn't all that great. What did other people feel about it?

Dirt is a great mag, and leagues ahead of any of the competition. I haven't noticed any foul content other than the occasional laddy (is that a word?) comment in an article reffering to someones sexual antics etc. To be honest its nothing that wouldn't be hurled about at the pub or amongst the lads anyway.
My problem is when this is just thrown in just to be cool...... it's that time when you read the article or letters page and just think "Why did they write that?".
.........This could just be a sign of growing old BEN!!!!!

I used to really like Dirt, mainly for the photos really. Delving deeper tho, the content is really badly written and there's some really sloppy editing (insofar there doesn't appear to be any editing at all!). So I've stopped buying it now! I've found a really good french mag that's really really good!

Lol, mind you i'm 17 and i agree! Personally i think it should go back to being bi-monthly. That way they could scrap the rubbish writers, have more time to put more decent stuff in, and have time to edit the magazine properly. Plus i wouldn't have to rush to finish it in time before the next issue - I could relax more whilst reading it. The only downside would be that the chances of another photo issue would be next to none.

I agree, some of it is really bad. I don't want to sound snobbish, but it really does make it seem less proffessional! I presume you can read french, BTW!

No it's pretty basic, but the articles are well formed, good reviews of unusual bike stuff and places to ride. Found oot aboot this place too -http://www.bikepark-bad-wildbad.de/ one to add to the list for the Eurotour!

Seriously guys, we all sound disgusted from Tunbridge Wells. Being over 30 I can get away with this, but no excuse for you guys!!

It has got worse since going monthly though. A little bit is ok but if you think it's available for all ages to buy that changes it and it doesn't look that good for the bike scene either. Don't want to look a snob but you buy the mag to read about biking (I prefer Decline in that respect). Check the Madison ad about Ben Reid as well. Does cramming in swearing make it good? Shouldn't that be cut surely.
Don't get me wrong i really like Dirt but am getting put off a bit.

Also there were some really bad ones - spelling Bryceland's name wrong on the cover of one issue, having two issues listed as the same month of the same year and then skipping another month, and finally listing the jan 08 issue as the jan 07 issue!
anyway, enough whinging about spelling....[/whinge]
