twas amazing.
I did it on my nerw Flow Drift SS...
The Rundown:
woke up at 7:00 to get the train to TW (which was 20mins delayed), left Wildside at about 9:30 and rode to Bedgebury (including A21 with all the bikers ) arriving at bedgebury around 10:30.
when we got to bedgebury we had to meat up with our camaraman and another rider who were waiting for us, the photograpgher wanted to get some shots on the DJ which is why we headed down there (closed, scared ppl) so we just headed straight to the singletrack.
Just before we started the singletrack we bumped into two men who had just raced round in an effort to beat their time...congratulations to them, theny managed to beat it by 50 seconds...their time was 59:25.
annoyingly a family went through just before us so had to overtake them, the girl (who must have been about 6!!) had stopped in the middle of a hill so i had to dismount and barge through as she was habving a temper tantrum!..unknow to me one of our group had gone down so i was waiting at the end of that section for quite a while before they caught up.
second section me and Jim (lycra, Sanderson Breath XC bike) were at the front and got stuck behind the mother and son of the family, the mother kindly moved out the way however the son (about 8ish) decided it would be fun to stay in the way. Jim was in front of me and managed to get around by cutting a corner whereas i had to just blast past on one of the straights riding slightly off the trail to catch up with Jim again.
most of the rest went without any real problems...just constant bickering between Jim and myself, as i was following him most of the time (i use him as a pace thingy) he was getting scared shitless as i have slightls squicky brakes and i was less than a bikes length away from him and overtaking him on really tight corners where i could....best one was on onw of the longer DH sections where i blasted straight past him and carried soo much speed down the straight i had a full two wheel drift round the corner (with him screaming behind me) then the same thing round another corner into a bridge to get round Adam (our newest rider).
all in all it was a truly epic day and the weather just about held up while we were there.
the only problems i have with the singletrack is the lack of burms which in mu opinion would make it much easier to go fast, although by the end i was tearing it round courners as if there were burms, and somehow stopping slower ppl from going round the single track...such as the aforementioned family (they weren't the only ones during the day)

sounds very amusing!
I'm guessing the family went and sued the forestry for the hills being too steep or something... I'm surprised there's not more injuries when you see some of them families on the singletrack!
Once even saw a dad trying out the shore- he was sitting down wobbling everywhere with no helmet etc with the family watching
Singletrack with singlespeed must've been a killer though!
