09 tripsAnyone got any biking trips lined up for this year or must visit places?
Was considering Wagrain in Austria but with the strength of the Euro it's probably going to cost too much now Do your research if planning on Euro trips!

Scotland is a good call actually. Might be going up there meself; should be a consolation for not going anywhere abroad (unless you count Scotland as abroad!)

hmm... what with the weak pound it's looking likely that this summer is going to be a local one
Would have loved to have gone to Italy or Swizerland but the prices are going up and up! But then again, thinking about how much some of these b&bs are in the UK I probably won't be saving that much!

Hoping to plan a trip to Afan for some XC and a road trip to various places and parks in the southwest - Okehampton, Haldon Forest and maybe the track in Portreath. Can't see it being cheap abroad again for a while, due to the Euro. It's already put pay to a snowboard trip this year so I think I'll stop in Blighty.

Not a bad idea to stay here , as there is lots of great places to ride that i have never been to .

And they usually rip you off for the lifts in the Winter too. Massive price difference to the Summer!

Have heard the Okehampton shore (or part of it) has been ripped down.

Like the freedom you get in the Alps. Can't overrate that place
Reckon I'll be going Scotland too. Bike Park prices in Europe work out similar to theme park prices here! Madness.

Just been out to the alps snowboarding with Robin and I can confirm its pretty expensive, but the snow was soooo good.
Going again at the end of March, might ride the bike sometime after that.
I think I'm going to dream of trips to far off places, and then go ride at the Bull Track - same as last year then...

Would love to do that at some point. Welcome home.
How much was the lift pass when you were there? (presume it was a week pass?)

At the time we went the exchange rate was almost equal, so a 4 day pass cost £150.
I'd have paid twice that given the weather but it is a silly amount to charge for access to the mountains.
To be fair to the French (and I dont say that often) they have their prices and us Brits go there based on the exchange rate of about 1.5. No prices have been adjusted out there as they have their cost base and anyone in Europe already doesnt see the problem.
The only people suffering are us Brits and the French dont seem to mind that at all.
A beer was £3 in happy hour and £5 afterwards.
Shocking

Put them in an [empty] thermos flask! Sounds good anyhow. Would love to see some shots.
