Hmmmm..... Some lads told me about this on Friday pm at the R place.

I'm not convinced on this one. £100k..... of what, he doesn't have anything.  I finally think that there is no money to be borrowed anymore, one too many people have been p*ssed off and he's finally calling it quits! Lets hope someone with teh investment, passion and aptitude will bring PORC to its full potential.

Pires, new job sounds fab, Friday's off Laughing

I read about this in the Courier newspaper last week and came to the same conclusions as Pires. Mike is a nice chap if you see him in the street but possibly not the strongest candidate if you want to see MTB taken forward in a constructive manner at a site with huge potential.

I've even discussed funding and business structure with him in the past (my area of you know what) and he was so far behind I doubt he could convince any investor to part with funding.

Conclusion - the wheel's going round but the hamster is dead  Confused

Well the FC have no money so it'll have to be some mtb loving private investor, which is unlikely given no one has money to burn at the moment! Unless you're Russian.

A cutting edge development of one and two bedroom flats for £200k each...

I'd buy one if most of the hill was left intact!

PORC was set up to give people a place to ride, not a major money success story (?). Personally thought it had looked very promising at the beginning of the year with all the development going on.

Props to Mike for the work in supporting the MTB scene.

Indeed. Its a shame! Especially with just having secure an NPS 4X event. Maybe this will help in finding a new buyer.  I would also be slightly concerned about What Mike wants to get for it, and what its really worth.

Ture that may put people off! But land is such a rip off in the South East. Surely as its good recreation etc the council should offer support?

you boys are way off

Porc has always been for sale but its well over valued
Mike just likes to get into the paper or TV
Mike was given Porc by his dad who owns a huge company called Rentokill
his dad is still alive with a young wife living in Aus
Mike trys to make a living from Porc and only just manages it
Thats why every thing at Porc is a half done bodge
Mike hates DH its road racing that he likes, but he can not get planning or finance for a Road race lap at Porc
these are the facts as far as I have been told
