The contractors have recently been in to sort out the worst of the bogs on the singletrack caused by a wetter than usual winter. There are also firm plans down to re-route some of it which is to be in place by easter time. New maps are to be included.

I've now heard that the signage changes to coincide with the new maps will be done the May Day Bank Holiday (I'll be drinking lots of beers and watching the Green Man).
Not sure how it's going to flow but I hope they manage to sort out that bend before the bridge on the reversed section not far from Park Lane cos that could coause problems.
(DH says it'll be sorted so I'm keeping the faith)

Reckon everyone will end up in the stream? (considers setting up a webcam...)
Hopefully this route will 'bridge' all of the previous problems.
The new route works as follows:

| I'd love to find a way around those bogs. Pretty sure there are no new signs up. I'd be into helping out if required. |

The new route looks good, but we'll have to ride it first to see exactly how its going to flow.
I was down on sunday and the contractors hadn't started working then on the real messy parts. The problem is with the weather most of it seems to be heavily bogged up at the moment. We just need some dry fkin weather!!
Am I not looking at it properly or is the new layout making more use of the family hard trails?? |
