Sam Hill moving to Spaecialized seems really odd. He's become a centre piece to Iron horse in a way. Is this going to be the bike Hill will be riding in 09? http://www.nsmb.com/page/s/2651/stinking-hot-rumours

Maybe he feels with the season not so much as a white wash as last season he needs to change his rig. Seems the Syndicate Team and Gee have really been up there with him all season, and Sam doesn't seem to have the advantages of last year. Maybe its talent and not the rig that have got him through this year???.... however I would have thought a new team and rig would take at least a season of serious riding and testing to even be up there with the top lads......... On the other hand it could just be a case of WEDGE!!$$$$$£££££.................... My opinion............ its the latter! C.R.E.A.M! _________________

well to add to the rumer speciallized are rumered to have a new DH rig in the workings...but i've heard no official word just rumers.
But i think that most of Hill moving will be to do with cash. I see no other reason really. _________________ |

Good thought Pires. With all being a split second off eachother on top race runs it must take a while to adapt to a new bike too for that level? _________________

I'm sure Iron Horse loosing the rights to build the DW-Link must have sowed the seeds of doubt with Mr Hill.
It's the centre piece of the entire bike and they can't build it anymore. What else are they going to come up with - if Sam Hill leaves then the answer is likely to be "not a lot".
Spesh are a huge company and when it comes to R&D you can imagine they easily convinced Sam Hill that the resources would be there. They have not really been on the DH seen either.
The Demo series were promoted by Romaniuk and Hunter and became known as freeride rigs and they were the top end bikes.
Sam Hill could probably win a few races on a Grifter so I hardly think he will suffer on whatever Spesh build for him. |
