Which issue is regarded as most needing attention presently on the singletrack: Low level shore or berming some of those loose corners?

I feel we need to put some of the fun back into the singletrack. Its starting to feel more like a cross country slog!
Some berms could be a good addition to the newly laid "swampy" section, as long as it doesn't sink out of sight.
The section that i class as are only down hill run (starts just before the old saw mill) this has had some renovation work as well (much needed), but they also filled in the wheel trap right at the bottom and as such has removed some of the excitement.
Obviously these are just my opinions and i am more than willing to help with any hard labour that will improve the tracks. I know its got to be more fun than just dragging wood around to block peoples short cuts! |

Yeah on that section noticed a left hand corner near the bottom was really washed out with loads of lines going straight off the track. Not good. There was also one particular turn that made you lose all your speed mid way down. Those bits really needed berming for starters.
Some people had mentioned berms being intimidating for beginners though _________________

I know what you mean: Bewl Water is a prime example! everyone who isn't hardcore riders are like 'have you been to bewl water' but it's so boring!
As for intimidating berms, erm how? a 20ft road gap might be, but not a berm. In fact i find loose corners more intimidating than berms! _________________

Looks like it could be good news on the berms front... Thetford visit a month ago showed us all how good the riding could be and now the club is going to sign up to CTC and get some more trailbuilding input and tuition it looks likely the flow will be put back in some places and added to others... watch this spade! Someone was going to have to say say that at some point
Any idea when the tuition is going to take place? We are going to wait finishing the dirt run as well till we've done the training. _________________

| Hey Ben, Joel here, erm, i think burming is much needed on many sections of the singletrack as it really slows down a lot of the course. I reckon you would get around that course 5 minutes quicker with the corners burmed. |

Welcome along dude!
You got a record time round there? Maybe we set up a record time thread for people to post their times in? _________________

Yur some of those flat corners are frickin deadly! I wouldntt have a problem with a loose dirt corner, but you just can't put your weight into gravel without ending up with a mouthful of the stuff!
