Perhaps this should have been in the general riding forum, but as it's to do with buying I thought i'd post it here...

This may be old news to those who'd read the small article in Dirt, but it's worth mentioning in case you'd missed it: Basically, due to the weakening pound bike prices are rising, and according to Dirt they're not just rising a bit, but percentages in the twenties and thirties. Eeek! So if you were thinking of buying something later in the year, buy it now, if it's not too late already.

I think it's too late already. Best buy '07 or '08 stuff! I've been tracking mavic crossmax wheels for the past few months. Before christmas a pair was going for 450, after christmas 520 and now something stupid like 595!!!

I've been on a spree already. Sunline V1 AM stem, Monkeylite DH riser (Carbon), Avid 5 Codes.... trying to lighten up the Gambler.  Smile
Looking at Deemax's but no way I can justify that sort of spend right now. Shocked
Chain Reaction seems to have by far the best deals at the moment. In some instances 10-15% cheaper than Wiggle. They also offer extremely good credit aarangments too.  Very Happy

I've seen Stif advertising no increases on 08 too.

Yeah probably best to stick with last years stuff. Anyone know when the credit crunch is going to end?  Wink
