Well now, im not one for XC personally, but i did start off mtbing with it. Today, having not ridden for weeks, seeing as though my bike is being re-built, re-sprayed and cleaned, i went for a ride on my mates old claud butler cape wrath, with him, and two other friends.

Seeing as though it was raining like massive style for ages, it made it all the better. so with 100mm of travel, i set off with them and had a blast! xD

We did a real hard XC route through tonbridge, over to the mouth of the tonbridge/ hildenborough valley, and up bidborough ridge, which was a mission!. The downhill however was amazing!

100mm, leaves, MUD, water, crappy tires and not being able to see anything but the water actually inside my eyes we blasted down the hill, pedalling like crazy and it was damned awesome.

Well that was a nice stroy children, and the moral of the story is XC isnt that shit, and always go on real muddy rainy days if you want to freeze your balls off doing it, and have a crazy time too xD

any other inspiring stories out there?

Obviously no one has any other stories then...

I know what you mean. Set myself a target to get out for a blast for 1/2 hour everyday last January and you'd be surprised what good it did you. It actually seems the worse conditions are the more of a buzz you get from it. Having ridden about 4 times in 6 months I can't say too much about this winter yet though!
