South Downs Way Randonnée Challenge

The South Downs Way Randonnée is so popular we have to run two of them!

This long distance bike ride is a test of endurance and self-sufficiency. Experienced off-road bikers absolutely love the challenge.

You have a choice of distances and can choose between 35 miles, 65 miles or the ultimate challenge - 100 miles!

The route follows the South Downs Way from its start near Winchester taking in the beautiful Hampshire and Sussex countryside and finishes in Eastbourne.

The first ride is held at the end of June and if you miss that we have exactly the same ride at the end of July. Or perhaps you want to do both of them!!

Diary entry 29 June 2008
Got home last night and I was completely shattered but had a glow about me and a real sense of achievement. I was absolutely filthy, my legs ached but I felt brilliant. What had I been up to? I’d just completed the British Heart Foundation’s 100 mile South Downs Way Randonnée Bike Ride. Anybody that loves off-road biking and wants to push themselves and achieve that feeling of triumph, has to apply for this year’s ride! Also if you want to give the ultimate 100 challenge a go, but don’t feel ready for it, why not do the 35 mile this year and the 65 mile next year, then hit the 100 miles in 2011? The training will get your fitness levels so high, you’ll be exhausted but full of energy!
